Course

Elevation Gain8,000 ft
Cutoff Time6:00 PM (11-hour cutoff)

Runners shuttle roughly 15-18 minutes from the community center to the Olallie North trailhead for the start. The course opens with a demanding 6-mile, 3,400-foot climb to the Horsepasture Mountain summit (5,675 ft), continues along the ridge past a second summit at Macduff Mountain (5,060 ft), then descends through switchbacks and technical singletrack to the O'Leary/Castle Rock trailhead at mile 18. From there it's a 6-mile out-and-back down through a creek drainage to the East Fork turnaround before returning to O'Leary. A final climb leads to the Kings Castle summit for one more set of views, followed by a fast, flowing 6-mile, roughly 2,700-foot descent back to the community center finish.
