Three-day trail retreat on Orcas Island
Overview
Spend Valentine’s weekend chasing moss-lined switchbacks, misty summits, and crackling camp-lodge laughter on Orcas Island.
The Orcas Island Stage Race folds three distinctive routes into one all-inclusive retreat, pairing runnable ridgelines and granite staircases with family-style meals and bunkhouse camaraderie.
Rally with fifty-kilometer’s worth of forest fragrance, Salish Sea views, and late-night storytelling, then wake to do it again, because community is the real finish-line prize.
Course
Beautiful trails wind through Moran State Park’s emerald cathedral of Douglas firs and cedar, brushing alpine lakes and cresting Mount Constitution for sweeping views of the San Juan archipelago. Expect well-marked singletrack, mossy rock gardens, wooden bridges, and silky forest duff underfoot. Stunning views of Mount Baker and the Salish Sea Old-growth spruce and fern-lined switchbacks Granite lookout tower atop Mount Constitution. Twisty rainforest trails, moss-covered ridgelines, and punchy climbs to Mount Constitution’s 360° lookout set the tone. Cascading lakes, old-growth evergreens, and potential winter views of snow-capped Cascades keep things scenic even when the clouds roll in.
