Overview
The Brown Bear Salmon Run brings trail running to the heart of Snoqualmie Pass, where skiers and mountain bikers usually rule the slopes. Now it is the runners’ turn. Winding through alpine singletrack, ski access roads, and ridgelines with sweeping views, this course is as exhilarating as it is scenic.
This is not just another run in the mountains. It is a community event that celebrates the joy of trail running, the rugged beauty of the Cascades, and the power of running together. Between the forested climbs, ridgeline panoramas, and the vibrant energy at the Summit West base area, this race will leave you grinning at the finish line and already planning your return.

Aid Stations
There are two aid locations on the course. A water drop is available at mile 4.5, and the Grand Junction aid station at mile 6 will be stocked with GU, Tailwind, Nuun, and trail snacks to fuel your climb and descent. A hearty post-race spread awaits at the finish line.

Bib Pickup
Packet pick-up takes place on race morning starting at 6:30AM at the start and finish area at Summit West.
Drop Bags
Drop bags are not required for this race, as it is a single loop, but small items can be left at the start and finish area. Bags not collected after the event will be donated or discarded.
Crew & Pacers
Crew and visitors are welcome at Snoqualmie Pass. The Summit West base area has ample space for spectating, cheering, and enjoying the mountain atmosphere. All visitors must follow parking rules and stay clear of active race trails.
Volunteers
Volunteers are essential to the Brown Bear Salmon Run. From aid stations to course monitoring near the bike park, there are plenty of ways to pitch in.
Swag & Medals
Every finisher receives a custom, handmade wooden coaster crafted with solar power in Anacortes, Washington. Additional Evergreen Trail Runs merchandise is available for purchase at the race.
Getting There
The nearest major airport is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), located 55 miles west of Snoqualmie Pass. Cle Elum, WA, located 30 miles east, is another nearby town with services and lodging.
Driving Directions
Parking
There is ample parking available at the Summit West ski area. Carpooling is strongly encouraged. Follow signs to the uppermost lot closest to the ski hill.
Lodging
Lodging is available at The Summit Inn in Snoqualmie Pass. Additional accommodations can be found in North Bend, WA, and Cle Elum, WA.

Requirements
The Brown Bear Salmon Run is open to all levels of trail runners. While the course is moderately challenging, no prior mountain race experience is required. Runners should be prepared for variable weather conditions and elevation gain.
Mandatory Gear
Runners must carry their own refillable hydration container as this is a cupless race.

Kid & Youth Policy
The Woodland Speeders Kid’s Race is free and about 1 mile long. Parents may accompany their children. Youth runners 24 years old and under receive a 20% discount on race entry.
Charity & Beneficiary
The Brown Bear Salmon Run supports the Washington Trails Association, an organization dedicated to trail maintenance, stewardship, and advocacy for public lands in Washington.
Land Acknowledgement
The Brown Bear Salmon Run takes place on lands historically inhabited by the Snoqualmie and Coast Salish peoples. We honor and thank these caretakers who have lived here since time immemorial. We encourage participants to learn about and support the Snoqualmie Tribe Ancestral Lands Movement, which promotes mindful and respectful recreation on these lands.

Evergreen Trail Runs is a Pacific Northwest-based trail racing organization dedicated to creating inclusive, community-oriented events across Western Washington. Founded in 2010 by Roger Michel and Yumay Chang, Evergreen began with a vision to connect runners with the region’s rich network of trails. Now a part of Orca Running, Evergreen Trail Runs continues to thrive under the leadership of Co-Owners Katie Warren, Porter Bratten, and Ashley Lee.
