Overview
Grand Ridge is the grand finale of the Evergreen Trail Runs season, and it’s the kind of send-off every trail runner dreams of. Tucked into the deep forests of the Cascade foothills, this race invites you to lose yourself among mossy trees, golden autumn leaves, and rolling fern fields. Whether you’re toeing the line for 5M or 50K, the trails here deliver the perfect mix of runnable paths and lung-pumping climbs.
Since 2000, Washington Trails Association has helped connect miles of singletrack through this ridge system, creating one of the most versatile networks for running, hiking, and biking. Expect a festive atmosphere, cheering volunteers, and the kind of trail community energy that makes you want to come back year after year.

Aid Stations
Runners will find well-stocked aid stations with water, Tailwind, Clif products, PBJ sandwiches, fruit, cookies, crackers, and pretzels. Volunteers provide one-on-one assistance for snacks to keep things flowing smoothly.

Logistics
Schedule
Race weekend kicks off with early morning bib pickup, a festive start area, and an energetic crowd ready to cheer runners of all distances. After your finish, enjoy warm food, handmade finisher swag, and the camaraderie of the Evergreen Trail Runs community.
Bib Pickup
Packet pickup opens at 6:00AM on race morning at the large Evergreen Trails tent at Grand Ridge Trailhead.
Drop Bags
Drop bags are collected at the start/finish area and will be available at designated aid stations. Any unclaimed bags will be returned to the finish area. Please label your bag clearly.
Crew & Pacers
Crew and visitors are welcome at the start/finish area. Trails remain open to the public, so spectators should be mindful of other trail users and yield space where appropriate.
Swag & Medals
All finishers receive a unique piece of handmade wooden swag crafted with solar power in Anacortes, Washington.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is the closest major airport, approximately 30 minutes from the start.

Parking
Participants can park at the small lot at the start/finish area, along SE 79th St, or at the I-90 Church lot just past the trailhead. Carpooling is strongly encouraged.
Lodging
Issaquah offers nearby lodging options, and downtown Seattle is a short drive away with a wide range of accommodations.

Requirements
This race welcomes runners of all experience levels. Distances up to 50K require sufficient training and preparedness for long climbs and technical singletrack.
Mandatory Gear
Runners are strongly encouraged to carry a refillable hydration container due to the cupless policy.

Race Policies
Kid & Youth Policy
Kids can join the free Woodland Speeders 1.1M race held on race morning. Parents are welcome to run alongside their children. The course is a crushed gravel trail with little elevation gain. Registration can be completed alongside adult registration.
Charity & Beneficiary
Proceeds support the Washington Trails Association, which develops and maintains trail systems throughout Washington.
Land Acknowledgement
Evergreen Trail Runs acknowledges that the Grand Ridge race takes place on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe (sdukʷalbixʷ). We honor and thank the caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here since time immemorial.

Evergreen Trail Runs is a Pacific Northwest-based trail racing organization dedicated to creating inclusive, community-oriented events across Western Washington. Founded in 2010 by Roger Michel and Yumay Chang, Evergreen began with a vision to connect runners with the region’s rich network of trails. Now a part of Orca Running, Evergreen Trail Runs continues to thrive under the leadership of Co-Owners Katie Warren, Porter Bratten, and Ashley Lee.
What sets Evergreen apart is its approachable and friendly atmosphere, along with its deep respect for the natural environment. The crew behind the scenes are mountain lovers and outdoor enthusiasts who bring that passion to every event—from race logistics and course setup to volunteer coordination and marketing.
