Overview
Feel the forest breathe as you thread old-growth cedar, thundering waterfalls, and breezy airstrip meadows on the storied White River courses. Each stride rewards you with radiant views of Mt Rainier, electric wildflowers, and the full-send cheers that make Rainshadow weekends legendary. From the lung-punching climbs to the pizza-fueled finish-line jam, this race is equal parts mountain challenge and community homecoming.

Standard spread of water, Gnarly electrolytes, soda, fruit, PB&J, Oreos, candy, chips. Vegan-friendly. 🌱 This is a cupless race so bring your own flask/cup. First-aid & period products available. Drop bags allowed at every aid station.

5:00 AM → Runner check-in and shirt pickup open
5:30 AM → Early start for runners needing extra time (50M & 50K)
5:45 AM → Drop-bag deadline
6:00 AM → Official start 50M and 50K
7:00 AM → Official start 25K
8:30 PM → Course closes, finish-line pizza and live music roll on
Bib Pickup
Race-morning pickup runs 5:00 AM–5:45 AM beside the start arch. Bring photo ID, signed waiver, and proof of parking pass.
Drop Bags
Place clearly labelled bags in the marked truck by 5:45 AM. Bags travel to every crew-approved station for 50M & 50K and return to the finish by 9:00 PM. Unclaimed bags can be shipped for postage.
Crew & Pacers
Crew access is permitted only at Buck (mile 28.3) and Skookum (mile 42.7) to limit dust and traffic on narrow forest roads. Visitors are welcome at the start finish—please carpool, display a valid Forest Pass, and respect quiet hours after 10:00 PM.

NW Forest Pass required for parking at certain trailheads or aid stations
Parking
Carpooling is encouraged. Crew vehicles may park roadside at Buck and Skookum aid stations in designated pullouts only. No parking is allowed on Sun Top Road.
A parking pass is required to park at the start/finish/campground area. Buy the appropriate pass online in advance. Here are the passes that are acceptable: Northwest Forest Pass, America the Beautiful annual pass (National Park Pass), or a single-day US Forest Service pass.
Lodging
Free primitive campsites surround the start finish at Ranger Creek. Developed Forest Service campgrounds at The Dalles (6 miles) and Silver Springs (2 miles) take reservations. Crystal Mountain Hotels offers discounted rooms for racers. Additional lodging is available in Enumclaw, Greenwater, and Alta Crystal Resort.
Campground parking is first-come, first-served.

Early-start options are available for anyone unsure about meeting pace requirements.
Mandatory Gear
No mandatory gear list, but organizers strongly recommend a collapsible cup, headlamp for 50M late finishers, and a light jacket for unpredictable mountain weather. All runners must carry enough fluids to cover up to 10 miles between aid.

A portion of proceeds supports Washington Trail Association’s “For The Trails” program, funding volunteer crews that keep Cascades singletrack runnable year-round.
Land Acknowledgement
We honor the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Puyallup Tribe, who have stewarded these forests and rivers since time immemorial.
