Squamish 50 — 50 Mile
Headlamps (100+ lumens) are mandatory at the start and for anyone departing Far Side aid station after 6:00 PM. Sunrise 6:40am, sunset 8:30pm.
Overview
The Squamish 50 races are TOUGH, unforgettable trail running experiences. The marquee 50 Mile boasts over 90% singletrack and more than 11,000 ft of climbing and descent, with sweeping vistas across glaciated peaks jutting straight out of the Pacific Ocean. A weekend of racing in the Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada: 50 Mile on Saturday, 50K and 23K on Sunday, plus a 50/50 combined challenge and a Kids Run.
Course
A point-to-point loop through Squamish starting with a flat, fast opening section before climbing Debeck's Hill, threading through Alice Lake Provincial Park, tackling the Galactic Scheisse climb (over 750m gain), through Capilano University lands, and finishing via Smoke Bluffs and Rose Park to Junction Park. The back half runs notably harder than the front half.
