Fall colors and fast trails make Coldwater an unforgettable run
Overview
Coldwater Mountain is a gem tucked into the northeast corner of Alabama, where meticulously crafted trails twist and turn through hardwood forests alive with the colors of autumn. Smooth singletrack leads you to wide-open ridgelines, while punchy climbs and playful descents keep your legs and lungs honest.
This race offers something for everyone, from new trail runners looking to test themselves on the 10K to experienced ultrarunners chasing a strong finish at the 50K. It’s a weekend-long celebration of trail running where community, challenge, and scenery all come together.
Course
Runners will weave through Coldwater Mountain’s purpose-built trail system, renowned for its smooth flow, technical rock gardens, and well-marked paths. Expect to cruise through pine groves, grind up switchbacks, and crest ridgelines with wide-open views. The course comes alive in October with vibrant fall foliage, making the experience as breathtaking as it is challenging.
50K runners will take on an extended journey across the park’s most rugged terrain, while the 15K and 10K runners will experience condensed versions filled with rolling singletrack and rewarding climbs. The variety of terrain makes each distance feel unique, yet all share the same spirit of Coldwater’s world-class trails.
