The City to Sky Ultra is where Missoula’s wild spirit comes alive. Starting in the heart of town and quickly climbing into pristine wilderness, these races showcase conservation lands, rugged peaks, and buttery single track that makes Montana famous. With only a touch of pavement and endless mountain views, every step feels like you are part of something much bigger than a race.

The 50K delivers an epic tour of multiple summits and over 8,000 feet of climbing, circumnavigating the Pattee Creek watershed. The 25K highlights the House of Sky Ridgeline Trail, giving runners the back half of the 50K course and an unforgettable mountain journey. Whether you are pushing for a personal best or soaking in the golden October skies, this is a race that blends community, challenge, and celebration. Volunteers, friends, and family create a festival feel at the finish in Missoula’s University District.
