True Mountain Running in the PNW
Overview
The Beast of Big Creek is one of the most iconic mountain races in the Pacific Northwest, set in the Olympic Mountains with a breathtaking climb to the summit of Mt. Ellinor. This two-day event offers a true skyrunning experience with rugged vertical gain, technical trails, and stunning alpine views. The event includes the Skyrace, the Forest Loop, and the Double Beast challenge for those who dare to run both races back-to-back.
Course
Technical alpine terrain, steep climbs, and breathtaking views of Lake Cushman and the Olympic Peninsula
Skyrace (22K) — a certified International Skyrunning Federation course with over 5,300 ft of vertical gain, climbing to the summit of Mt. Ellinor before a quad-busting descent
Forest Loop (5 miles) — scenic forest route with 1,200 ft of gain, lush green trails, streams, and wooden bridges
Double Beast — complete both the Skyrace and the Forest Loop across two days

Carpooling recommended to reduce traffic and parking congestion
