Alpenglow 100 Kids Race
Vale, Vert, Views & Vibes. The 2027 100K is a qualifying race for the 2028 Western States 100.
Overview
A mountain running event in Valemount, BC — "the town that's in the middle of everywhere," at the confluence of the Canadian Rockies, Cariboos, and Monashees. Courses incorporate two local peaks, McKirdy and Swift Mountain, topping 2,300m/almost 8,000ft in the high alpine, with sightlines to Mt. Robson, the Premier's Range, and Kinbasket Lake. The 100K starts overnight on Friday, with all runners experiencing the same stretch of darkness.
Logistics
Bib Pickup
Friday 12:00-7:00 PM at the Best Western Plus Valemount (host hotel). 100K runners MUST pick up bibs Friday — no race-day bib pickup for 100K. 65K: Saturday 4:30-5:30 AM at the start line. 38K: Saturday 5:30-6:30 AM at the start line. Photo ID required; all mandatory gear must be shown before a bib is issued.
Swag & Medals
All entries include a $10 donation to local trails organizations, a tree planted through a Fraser Valley reforestation partnership, gender-specific race tees, a custom finisher's medal, a race tote bag and sticker, and professional chip timing. Podium awards go to top three male/female and first non-binary finisher per distance.

Parking
4000 Whiskey Fill Rd, Valemount, BC. Shuttles run every 5 minutes before race starts and every 15 minutes during the day Saturday from the Alpenglow parking lot; well-behaved dogs are welcome on shuttle floors.
Requirements
Mandatory gear for all distances: buff, toque, gloves, running pack, water & food, 2x space blankets or 1x emergency bivy, waterproof breathable hooded jacket (Gore-Tex or equivalent), whistle, and a collapsible cup. 100K runners need two 150+ lumen light sources. Missing gear incurs a 1-hour penalty per item per gear check. Poles are allowed. Crew access is extremely limited — 38K has no crew access; 65K/100K crew access is limited to the Swift aid station only.
Policies
Kid & Youth Policy
About 1km, mostly ages 3-10 though all kids are welcome. Non-timed, non-competitive, with kids' bibs, finisher stickers, and random draw prizes. Free registration.
