The last person standing challenge!

Overview

The Gulch Countdown isn’t your ordinary trail race—it’s a test of grit, speed, and strategy in one of the Pacific Northwest’s most enchanting forest settings. Picture yourself weaving through a moss-draped canopy, giant cedars towering above, and lush ferns carpeting the forest floor. Every loop feels like stepping deeper into a green cathedral of endurance.

The magic here is in the format. It starts friendly—plenty of time to run, laugh, and recharge between loops—but with each passing round, the cutoff shrinks. Soon it’s you against the clock, your legs, and the runners beside you. By the end, it’s no longer just a trail race—it’s a battle of willpower where only one person earns the title of Last Runner Standing. Whether you’re chasing glory, pushing your limits, or just soaking up the electric energy of the countdown, the Gulch delivers an unforgettable day in the woods.

About Japanese Gulch Runners

Japanese Gulch Runners

Japanese Gulch Runners is a running club that started in January of 2017 by a group of friends who ran together regularly in Japanese Gulch in Mukilteo, WA. Our goal is to create a welcoming community for trail runners in Snohomish County. The club has not hosted regular group runs for a few years.
