One loop. One hour. Endless grit.
Overview
The Banana Slug Backyard Ultra and Backyard 24 aren’t just races—they’re a battle of grit, patience, and persistence. At beautiful Champoeg State Park along the Willamette River, runners tackle a 4.167-mile loop every hour, on the hour. Sounds simple? It is, until you’ve been running for 10 hours... or 30 hours.
Choose your challenge:
Backyard 24 – 24 hours, 24 loops, 100 miles. You against the clock, with the sweet taste of accomplishment at sunrise.
Backyard Ultra (Silver Ticket) – No finish line, no limits. The race ends only when one runner is left standing. The winner earns a coveted spot at Big’s Backyard Ultra US Championship.
